A Seasonal Model of Wellness for Relationships: An Exploration of Love and the Immune System

The Epigenetic Language of Love in the Spring

Just like we transfer stress hormones for up to five generations from ancestors who have been in concentration camps, we also transfer the intimate language of love. We come into relationships with an opportunity to play out our epigenetic misery or coauthor healthy longevity. Often, this intimate language of love is tainted, inadvertently or ‘for our own good’, by parents and other cultural editors who teach us what I call the archetypal wounds. These acquired lessons are ways of punishing, admonishing, or teaching based on patterns of abandonment, shame, and betrayal. Consequently, these punitive lessons become a language of love, that although we intellectually tell ourselves this is not how we are going to be, we enact the dysfunctional language fluently when love comes our way. Then when we enter relationships, we entangle each other’s archetypal wounds without the awareness of the potential damage to the union.

In this model of Guardians of the Heart, couples or individuals seeking a new relationship will embrace a way of interacting with each other, that not only heals the archetypal wounds, but also triggers immunological health for wellness longevity. In my research with healthy centenarians and couples that have been happily together for over 40 years, I found common denominators for individual healthy longevity as well as coauthored wellness.

In this workshop you’ll learn how to:

1. Identify your archetypal wounds.
2. Understand how archetypal wounds disrupt relationships.
3. Learn the antidotes that are the immune enhancing components of these lessons.
4. Learn the exalted emotions and higher cognitions that trigger the causes of health.
5. Understand the epigenetic transfer of dysfunctional scripts to future generations.

*Epigenetics is the science of understanding how DNA interacts with the environment to modify genetic expression of illness as well as wellness.
